At our T&F banquet, Coach Boardman and Coach Helfrick were both awarded the Matthew P. Rodkey Dedicated Coach Award for their 15+ years of service to Carlisle T&F, and Coach Helfrick’s retirement was announced. There is a lot of potential for these teams next season!
@carlisleesports hosted its first ever gaming day, Everyone Games PA 22, and was recognized by the CASD board of directors. They were also the C Division State Champions in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this spring.
Around the classroom…
My students and I travelled to DC to explore QTS Data Center. They all earned Google IT Support certifications, and several completed OSHA General Lab Safety and CompTIA A+ certs this year. 2 now former students have been hired to work for our district’s IT vendor, and at least 1 student will be completing a paid internship with them next school year. I also gave my first professional presentation at the ACTE conference at Bucks County Community College on how educators can use AI and ChatGPT in the classroom.
In the winter, my middle school girls team improved to place 2nd at the end of season tournament. I’ll definitely miss coaching 🏀, but I look forward to watching them and the whole program continue to get 1% better at their games next year.
In the fall, @carlisle__xc had a great season with a lot of improvement all around, including from my XC lite athletes. We also survived the hurricane on our annual beach trip.
Now with summer coming, I’m getting ready to take on Lake Champion with @carlisle.yl in just a few weeks!
